Gracing The Occasion

The Head of the Government, Sri Narendra Modi will lead the main event of the 8th International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations in Mysuru on June 21, 2022.
Internationally renowned as the ‘go-to’ place for learning yoga, the main event is set to be a huge brand building exercise and will further fortify Mysuru’s reputation as a yoga hub.

With the generous blessings of both of them, we are confident that the event is going to be a grand success and will be marked in the history of Mysuru.

We Are Growing

Yoga Federation of Mysore has been vigorously and consistently training the students and citizens of Mysuru to break our own Guinness record set in the year 2017. As with each year, plans are underway to organise the biggest event of 2022, with an expectation to achieve a target of 2 lakh audience.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, IDY event was an online event in 2020 and 2021. The initiative led to people of India doing yoga from their homes and posting it online.

Guinness World Record

The largest yoga lesson involved 55,506 participants and was achieved by the District Administration, Mysuru District, Karnataka, India, on 21st June 2017. Mysuru has bagged the cleanest city award twice, it is known as heritage city and is also a tourist hotspot. Now with this record, Mysuru has taken the world by storm by declaring itself as the Yoga capital of the world.

Yoga for Unity and Well-being

“Yoga for Unity and Well-being” is an initiative of leading Yoga Institutions and schools who have come together to present the best that Yoga has to offer, with a message of unity and harmony. This program is being organized under the auspices of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India and in collaboration with United Nations Information Centre and partners.
